Joachim Perez is a Swiss artist living between Berlin and Tokyo whose textile-based practice explores memory and diasporic knowledges around repair. Working with reclaimed domestic fabrics and hand-sewn forms, he draws on his diasporic heritage and a background in indus-trial design to create installations that evoke gestures of care and transmission.
His installations have been exhibited in museums, galleries and public spaces across Japan, Europe, and the United States. Notable exhibitions include solo presentations at The 5th Floor (Tokyo) and Wilde Gallery (Geneva), as well as group exhibitions at Museum für Fotografie (Berlin), Kunstquartier Bethanien (Berlin), and BINZ39 (Zürich). He was also an artist-in-residence at the Musée Jenisch (Vevey).
