Ara Ko

(b.1989) Korea

Bio

Ara Ko, born in 1989 in Seoul, South Korea. She explores the depths of human anguish and profound emotions, capturing and projecting them through photography.

Constantly on the move, she deeply examines each landscape, seeking to understand the essence of existence. Whether standing in a silent snowy wilderness, a forest where blue winds whisper, or by waves brushing a sorrowful shore, she perceives the inherent sadness all beings carry. Her mission is to capture these feelings in the most beautiful way possible, preserving the sublime aesthetic that photography uniquely conveys.

Ara Ko’s distinctive approach to capturing images encourages viewers to rethink  traditional perceptions of photography. Her work carries a poetic quality where the line between an oil painting and a photograph becomes nearly indistinguishable.
